About Us

Possessing years of experience and still going strong, Aethelred specialises in providing after school student care services that focus on the holistic, multifaceted development of children hailing from primary schools. We aspire to be a credible and dependable partner in your child’s learning journey. From excelling in academic objectives to participating in extra-curricular activities, we seek to encourage and cultivate a positive attitude in your child towards lifelong learning.

Our founder spent searching for a student care centre that was suitable for her child. While she came across a myriad of unique student care centres that had much to offer in their own right, she could not quite find the perfect contender. Eventually, she settled for a student care centre that was less than ideal, but decent enough for her liking. Being empathetic with other parents in similar circumstances, she established Aethelred and began moulding it into her ideal image of what student care centres should aspire to emulate . Slowly but surely, we are working towards fulfilling that vision and our place as one of the premier community based student care centres in Singapore.

Our name “Aethelred” was derived from the Old English (Anglo-Saxon) name “Æðelred”, comprising two elements “æthel” (nobel) and “ræd” (advice). In essence, Aethelred translates to “noble counsel, well-advised”. This represents the philosophy behind us as educators. We strive to emulate the imperial advisors of old and provide your children with an education that is worthy of nobility itself.

At Aethelred, we believe all children are inquisitive and unique individuals who have distinct preferences and thus learn at different paces. Every child is given various opportunities to maximise their potential for holistic development. The sky is truly the limit when it comes to a child’s ambitions. We aspire to provide our students with an abundance of resources and guidance to help them build a sturdy foundation for realizing their ambitions.

We offer tailored student care services that cater specifically to the needs of your child. We accomplish this by collaborating and working closely with parents by establishing open lines of communication.

Our teachers are genuinely passionate about the well-being of their proteges. We take into consideration the various needs of different students, ranging from behavioural eccentricities to difficulties with learning.

While student care centres are conveniently accessible for your child, they do not usually offer the same range or levels of student care services that we do for your child. In our case, however, our teachers are professionally trained while being caring and dedicated to elevating your child's holistic development and learning experience.

Classes are kept intentionally small to allow for a lower teacher to students ratio. In so doing, teachers are able to interact with students more frequently and gain better insight into their thoughts and personality.

Our student care centre comes equipped with a well-stocked library that is brimming with books of various genres which would surely stimulate a passion for reading in our students.

Our home-cooked nutritious and delicious meals are prepared with oodles of love and attentiveness. While we cannot claim to be professional Chefs, rest assured that our very own students are huge fans of the dishes that we create.
